Cottage rentals in Grand-Métis in Gaspesie

Discover Grand-Métis

The municipality of Grand-Métis is located on the plains and terraces of the St. Lawrence River in the Gaspesie region. It is located at the confluence of the Mitis River and the St. Lawrence River. At approximately 3:30 AM from Quebec City, make yourself comfortable in a chalet, many of which have been built along the river. Peace and contemplation will allow you to easily escape the sounds of urban life.

Its main attraction is the Reford Gardens with an area of 34 hectares. There are more than 3,000 plant species, including the famous blue Himalayan poppy, which has been a symbol of gardens for decades. More than twenty gardens and paths are to be discovered with an impressive collection of native and exotic plants. The International Garden Festival takes place every year and has attracted nearly 900,000 visitors who were able to admire more than one hundred gardens designed by more than 220 creators from around fifteen countries. A must for all contemporary garden lovers. Villa Estevan's restaurant located right in the heart of the gardens is led by chef Pierre-Olivier (Gold winner of the Canada Food Innovation Award) who offers a cuisine based on edible plants from the horticultural collection. Permanent, temporary and virtual exhibitions include the history and life of Elsie Reford, founder of the gardens.

The Domaine Valga is a resort that welcomes you with a wide range of activities such as treetops air park, kayak, canoe, paddle board, hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing and snowmobile.

The Mont-Comi Park located in the Appalachian Mountains awaits you with its 30 ski slopes, cross-country skiing and snowshoe trails, 6 undergrowth and 2 snow parks. You can also go downhill and cross-country biking. In March, snowboarders meet up for the "Snowmission".

Not far from Grand-Métis, you will find a golf club offering magnificent landscapes on the St. Lawrence River, and on a quiet lot with groves of mature trees. The sunsets are breathtaking near the river. Without doubt the most beautiful terrain in the Gaspésie region!

Otherwise, you will fall in love with the work of this weaver, founder of The Toiles de Mer who will present pieces made of cotton, linen or silk. Discover his beautiful collection of carpets, cushions, throws, tablecloths and clothes.

And for those who want to be pampered, the House of the heart will take care of you with its health care and relaxation. All you have to do is go back to the chalet for a good night's sleep and discover the next day!
