Cottage Description

Our Alpine Chalet is a four season vacation home located on a 1 acre wooded lot with stunning views of the Calabogie Peak ski hill.

1 km away from the Calabogie Peak ski resort, the tallest ski resort in Ontario, our chalet is back on the Madawaska Nordic and recreational ski trail network. In winter, you can practice skiing, snowboarding, pond skating, snowshoeing and cross country skiing; in summer, you can do boating, mountain biking, hiking. The area is well known for its beautiful fall colors and hunting adventure. There are also multiple golf courses nearby and the Calabogie Motor Sports Park is 12 km away.

It offers spacious living space (1,800 square feet) including a well-equipped kitchen, living room and dining room. dining room with fireplace and a very large sunny terrace on the 2nd floor. water purification, on-site laundry, dishwasher, barbecue, fire pit (closed in winter) are also provided.

We have 3 bedrooms and 2 full bath (one on each level)

We are NOT on the water, but we do have deeded access to Calabogie Lake. The boat launch (dock, loading area, parking) shared with our neighbors is 600 yards from the property. Also, the Peak Resort across road from us It is not just for down-hill skiing. They offer kayaks, paddle boats, a lovely sand beach, stand-up paddleboards, golf, a gym, swimming pool, hot tub, hiking trails, restaurants, wedding venue and more. Day passes are available for individuals and families.

Terms and Conditions of the Cottage
To make your stay, and the stay of future guests, as comfortable as possible, please read the following carefully. Thank you for your patience.

1. No parties or events. We do not rent to a group of singles under age of 25.

2. The maximum number of guests is 6 persons (above age of 2). No overnight visitors allowed without prior agreement.

3. We welcome children as guests, however the chalet is not “child-proofed”. There are safety hazards, such as stairs, railings and electrical outlets that may not be child-protected, hot baseboard electric heaters, fireplace etc. Please watch your children closely – they are your responsibility.

4. Please practice fire safety and adhere to the Greater Madawaska By-Laws on Fire and fire ban info (www.greatermadawaska.com/departments/fire/). Please only use the designated fire pit at the back of our chalet. Note that daytime fires are NOT permitted by law. Campfires can be lit no earlier than 2 hours before sunset and must be extinguished no later than 2 hours after sunrise. Please do not leave a burning fire unattended. Should you not adhere to the by-laws, any penalties will be yours to pay.

5. This is a no smoking chalet. This policy includes: cigarettes, cigars, vaping, recreational drugs, incense, pipes etc. There are NO EXCEPTIONS. Non-adherence to this policy will result in forfeiture of safety deposit and may result in additional fumigation/cleaning fees.

6. Sorry – no fireworks!

7. Well-behaved dogs are welcome (dogs only for allergic reasons). Please discuss with the owner before booking. One dog per group and we charge $50/stay (etransfer). Also please make sure they cause no damage to the furniture, or any part of the chalet. If left in the chalet alone, the dog must be crated. Please clean up after your dog. NO Charge for service dogs.

8. The speed limit on Peaks Village (our subdivision) streets is 30 kph. DO NOT SPEED! It is a quiet, safe, family-oriented community, let’s keep it that way.

9. Please keep noise to a minimum, no loud music is permitted outside.

10. Do not take any chalet furniture or towels off the premises.

11. Our kitchen is equipped for light cooking. You are kindly asked to leave it clean after use.

12. Our Wi-Fi is fairly stable, but there may be occasions of interruption due to service-provider or weather, which is beyond the owners’ control.

13. There is no daily cleaning service provided. Upon departure, please leave chalet as you found it upon arrival.

14. The renter undertakes to release, indemnify and hold the property owners harmless against any and all loss, claims, and causes of action, demands and/or costs and expenses that may be incurred by the renter or by any party in relation to the chalet rental. It is understood by the renter that the owners will not be liable whatsoever for any loss or any injury to the renter or guests using the cottage, its property and its content during the rental term, however caused. The renter acknowledges that the property and all of its contents are provided for the renter and guests to use at their own risk. The renter and guests are responsible for exercising due care and diligence in using the chalet’s equipment. In addition, the owners accept no liability for loss or damage to the renter’s or guests’ possessions on the owners’ land.

15. We rent to families and responsible adults. The renter acknowledges that he/she will be responsible for the property and will be an occupant of the property during the rental period. Subletting is not allowed.
