Discover Stratford
Stratford is part of the Summit Route Tour. Located between Thetford-Mines and Lac-Mégantic in the Eastern Townships region, it is located 72 km from Sherbrooke.
Its main tourist attraction comes from the 5 lakes that are on the outskirts of the city to the delight of water sports enthusiasts. Lake Aylmer, the third-largest lake south of the St. Lawrence River, Elgin Lake, Maskinonge Lake, La Héronnière Lake, and L'Équerre Lake attracted many residents who built cottages. Not to be missed, the Maskinongé Marsh Trail with its two lookouts, sidewalks bridged across winding ponds and wildlife, and its 24-foot observation tower. A public beach is also there for the beautiful summer days. Stratford shares with neighbouring municipalities, Frontenac National Park where you can fish, canoe, kayak and hike year-round. The Wildlife Pavilion presents a beautiful collection of stuffed animals with guided indoor tours accessible also year-round.
