A peaceful place that is St-Aimé-des-Lacs, this municipality located in Charlevoix 1 hour away from Quebec City, has experienced its first vacationers who built their cottage in the 50s. The Park of the High Gorges of the Malbaie River covers an area of 225 km square allowing you to get lost in the spectacular nature with its 30 km of hiking trails, exploring along the Malbaie river or climbing mountainside towards the highlands. Whether you canoe or kayak, you can travel 16 km from its beautiful river or to practise fishing. The fauna of this park is exceptional to observe cervids such as deer or woodland caribou. Ornithologists will be delighted by the diversity of birds that inhabit this park. The must of this park is the " Acropole des draveurs " with its 225 m altitude. Lac Nairne also welcomes water sports and fishing enthusiasts as well as swimmers with its sandy beach.
Great hikers will take the mountain route in any season. Snowmobiling with its vast network of trails, dog sledding, ice hockey, snowshoeing, ski touring and salmon fishing are some of the activities this region has to offer. Two major events are held here each year: the Charlevoix Triathlon and the Charlevoix Rodeo.
