The municipality of Pointe-Alexandre is a tiny village of about one hundred inhabitants located in the Acadian Coastline in New Brunswick about an hour and a half from Bathurst. More specifically, it is located on the island of Lamèque. For those looking for peace and incredible sea landscapes should stay in a cottage in Pointe-Alexandre.
Lamèque Island is bordered on one side by the Gulf of St. Lawrence and on the other by Baie-des-Chaleurs. A picturesque island, fishing remains its main activity. With more than 40 species of fish, crustaceans and molluscs, it is not surprising to find them on the menu in almost every restaurant in the region!
Relax on the beautiful sandy beaches and quiet for a dip or sunbathing. In winter, discover the island in cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or go skating or skating.
The Pointe acadienne Ecological Park is a nature interpretation centre focused on the environment and the preservation of wildlife. Take the trails, the footbridge to the observation tower and the wooden walkway that crosses the estuary to get to the forest, through the arboretum with its repertoire of thirty native species. The New Brunswick Aquarium and Marine Center at Shippagan is a 10-minute drive from Pointe-Alexandre and the Pokemouche Golf Course is 35 minutes away.
