Whether you are planning a weekend getaway, a family vacation or an outdoor holiday, renting a cottage is often an attractive option. To make sure that the rental you want is available on the dates that you want, here are a few important dates that you must remember.

High Season

If you want to travel over Christmas, during Spring Break or the Construction Holidays, you must plan ahead. Competition can be incredibly high for these periods of the year. You must book at least six months early to ensure that you find the cottage that meets all of your criteria.

Statutory Holidays

Holidays are usually in very high demand, with many people hoping to get away for a weekend. To get the rental dates that you want, we recommended that you book at least three or four months prior to your travel dates.

Low Season

Lastly, it is usually easier to find attractive last-minute offers during the low season. It does not, however, mean that you should wait until the last second to start planning. Booking a month or two in advance should give you plenty of lead time.

As for last-minute discounts for cottage rentals, you must know that they are more of an urban myth than a reality. Prices for the days that you have chosen are usually pretty fixed. In other words, no need to stress yourself out looking for deals. After all, holidays are all about relaxing, are they not?
